Suzanne Smith leaves MLC Life Insurance

Suzanne Smith, Chief Customer Officer, Group Insurance, has left MLC Life Insurance, after accepting a senior role in the superannuation team at APRA.

Suzanne joined the MLC Life Insurance in November 2015 and helped build the capability of the Group Insurance team after the company became a member of the Nippon Life Group of Companies in 2016.

MLC Life Insurance CEO, David Hackett said, “Suzanne has been a committed colleague, a trusted friend and a key member of my leadership team. In addition, she played an instrumental role expanding our group insurance presence by bringing in a number of new business partners, such as Vision Super and Energy Super”.

Under Suzanne’s leadership, MLC Life Insurance developed and deployed the award winning Life View digital platform, which provides an integrated insurance experience for trustees, administrators and members.

In 2018, Money Management acknowledged Suzanne as “Woman of the Year” at its annual Women in Insurance Awards, which recognised her role in not just leading and building the business, but in being a role model and a mentor to so many people at MLC Life Insurance.

Hackett added, “This was a great acknowledgement for the strong values, integrity and heart that Suzanne brought to her role. We wish Suzanne all the best and thank her for her tremendous contribution to our business.”

Sean McCormack will replace Suzanne Smith in her role, alongside his current role, and become Chief of Group and Retail Partners.
