To encourage you to make walking part of your daily routine, we’ll extend your 5% discount for the second year of your policy and then each year after that providing you meet your step target. We’ll support you all the way with reminders and updates on how you’re tracking.
What is MLC On Track?
MLC On Track allows you to monitor your step information through your own fitness tracker, helping you measure your wellness and supporting you to achieve your target. You’re rewarded with a 5% discount on your policy premiums when you meet the step target annually. It is the Life Insured who participates in the program.
How do I get my discount?
On enrolment you will receive a 5% discount upfront. Every day you wear your fitness tracker, you’ll be tracking towards your weekly step target. If you reach the annual target, you’ll maintain your 5% discount for the next year. And you will be able to participate in the program each year to continue receiving your discount.
How do I enrol in MLC On Track?
When applying for an eligible insurance policy as a new customer, you will need to elect to participate in MLC On Track. You will need to read the ‘About MLC On Track’ document and agree to the Terms and Conditions.
What data does MLC Life Insurance collect?
Only steps are monitored for the purposes of meeting the 5% discount. However, MLC Life Insurance will collect all information available from the fitness tracker for internal statistical analysis.
How do I get started?
You need to have a fitness tracker (Fitbit, Garmin or Apple Watch are accepted on the program) and a compatible smart phone or other device. Once your policy has been issued, you will receive an authentication email from MLC Life Insurance. Please read the important information and agree to share your device information. Then just get walking!
You can also access the On Track Dashboard to check your progress and set your preferences.
Can I suspend my program?
Yes. If for any reason you are not able to continue meeting the step target (for example, you are going into surgery) please contact us. We can suspend your participation for a period of time and also try to reach a solution where you can, as much as reasonably possible, qualify for your discount for the following year.
What happens if I make a claim?
If you make a claim and benefits are being paid to you, we will record you as tracking to target for the period which you receive paid benefits. Your discount will be assessed based on your end of year results which will be a combination of your own tracked results and your on-claim results.
What are the step targets?
- Weekly target is 37,500 steps
- Program lasts for 40 weeks, commencing on the day the policy is issued
- Customers need to achieve their weekly target for 30 out of 40 weeks
How do I track my progress?
You can track your step target progress via your MLC On Track dashboard. Your daily steps progress will be uploaded into your dashboard within 24 hours of MLC Life Insurance receiving the data. You can set your dashboard preferences to detail daily, weekly or monthly targets tracking.
