Jane McGovern
Chief Risk Officer
Jane leads the Risk, Governance and Legal function at MLC Life Insurance and is responsible for enterprise-wide risk, compliance, regulatory affairs, corporate governance, legal and company secretariat.
Jane is an experienced financial services executive with deep insurance industry knowledge and a focus on achieving customer-centric outcomes. Jane has over 25 years experience advising and supporting insurance and other financial services organisations to uplift risk culture, strengthen governance practices and deliver commercial legal solutions.
Prior to joining MLC Life Insurance, Jane was the Chief Risk Officer for Zurich Australia, leading the risk function across Australia and New Zealand for the life insurance and general insurance business of the global insurer. Jane also held senior leadership roles for Allianz Australia, and most recently was the Group Executive, Risk and Governance for icare NSW, playing a critical role in the transformation of the risk and governance culture of the organisation. Jane's earlier career was spent as a lawyer in private practice specialising in financial services law, as well as in-house legal roles.
Jane holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business (Accounting), as well as post graduate qualifications in Applied Finance from FINSIA.
